BNN Breaking News: JohnnyU sweeps Mollymac in a rare Thursday night doubleheader. Fueled by Gummys and Chocolate the backgammon world watched Urogdy win the first match of the night 15-9. At Crawford-6 is was all-Urogdy. Back-to-back gammons at 7 and an accepted cube win at 12, put the self-proclaimed WGBP in the driver's seat. Mac brought in "The Extinguisher" and doused the candle illuminating the Crawford light. She went on to win another 2-pointer to raise her score to 9.. but that's where the mini-streak ended.

In an unexpected development, late in the tourney JohnnyU brought in his latest acquisition to the team. "Pepper" entered the tourney as a racer and did just that. Nicknamed "The Ghost", Pepper lit up the dice and cruised to a victory in his debut. When asked about the acquisition between matches, Urogdy stated. "Since the departure of Smooth Larry, we've been looking for a new weapon. The Ghost is known for being HOT and fast... so fast, you don't even see what happened. He's not a closer where you need to have precise rolls. The Ghost will be used in racing only... high numbers is all that matters".

JohnnyU's momentum continued into the nightcap. After an 11-0 run that featured two accepted cubes, one of which resulted in a 4-point gammon, MacIntosh doubled the next game with a slight advantage. JohnnyU took the lead on the final two rolls and debated a redouble which would have given him a 15-0 win. Instead, he let Mac roll...resulting in Double 2s for her win! After the game, MacIntosh stated that she would have accepted the 4-pointer, redoubled, and played for 8 on the final roll. That would have made it an 11-8 match. Fortunately for JohnnyU the match ended in a 15-2 blow-out, once again featuring three appearances by "The Ghost" who won all three races.

There was a moment of controversy in the stands as JohnnyU's fans were chanting "The Ghost" when a group of five fans donned white sheets (with cut-out eyes) over their heads. When the images of the fans were displayed on the big screen, you could hear a collective gasp from the crowd. Many thought that the fans appeared to look more like KKK members than fans of a "Ghost". The "clue-less 5" as they have been know dubbed on social media, were politely asked to remove the head coverings without incident. After the match, BNN interviewed one of those fans who wore the Ghost costume. "It's ridiculous to correlate what we did with any white supremacist organization, especially considering that I am a black man."

The MacIntosh camp had plenty to say after the match. Clearly distraught by back-to-back losses, Molly called JohnnyU the Dark Lord, signaling that he may have sold his soul to the devil to summons the power of Peppers near-magical dice. She also came close to accusing him of inciting a riot due to his naive fans wearing the white sheets. MacIntosh cited losing the matches to "Evil Forces" but later acknowledged that she was getting awkward rolls all night while Urogdy seemed in sync with the backgammon Gods.

At one point, JohnnyUs coffee-housing clearly got under Mac's skin when she spoke in an irritated manner, "Just shut up, I'd rather listen to my dog lick his paws, then listen to you"

The celebration went on late into the night at JohnnyU's world headquarters. "After losing the opening 2021 tourney, we've won 3-straight. Tonight, our moves were smooth and our dice were hot when we needed the fire. You can expect to see a lot more of "The Ghost" in upcoming tourneys". When asked about a new closer, "When we find the right fit for our organization, you'll see a new closer. Right now, we are pleased with the direction of the club".

JohnnyU was pressed about the incident in the stands and the conspiracy theories relating to Dark Powers. Urogdy laughed "Everyone knows that backgammon is filled with karma, intuition, luck, and the powers of the Backgammon Gods themselves. Forces that no one clearly comprehends but we all try to move in our favor. It's inherent in all dice games. If you want to look at who is trying to summons hot dice from a foreign power... just look at who is blowing everything in sight" With that, he played a compilation video clip of Molly Mac blowing on her dice.

He smiled and walked away from the podium.

Agents from both camps are working diligently to secure a date for the next showdown.
