The Challenge Cup
Tournament Format

The Challenge Cup utilizes a Match Play format. A two-some wearing matching team-colored shirts plays a scramble against another two-some wearing a different color on a hole-by-hole basis. The two-some that wins the most holes earns a point for their team.

A regular 18-hole outing features every two-some competing in two separate 9-hole matches or three 6-hole matches against different opponents each match.

With our proven handicap system, we can “level the playing field” of any match by starting a team “up” in the match instead of “all square”.

Each match is worth one point. Any match that finishes “All Square” (tied) is “halved” and each team receives a 1 ⁄ 2 point.

Each team consists of a total of 8 to 18 golfers each identified by wearing the same color. The team that accumulates the most points, wins the Challenge Cup.
