When it comes down to it, a high number of people who opt to seek some type of therapy generally just need an outlet to vent their frustrations. They need to "just talk" to someone, to be listened to and get clarification for their feelings. In the end, a majority of these people rarely reach that outlet.
The thought of having to set appointments, drive to an office and "share your feelings" face to face with a stranger for 45 minutes, only to walk out feeling dissatisfied, is almost too much to bear.
Every week, the thought of facing traffic after getting an appointment that may NOT be suitable for you, billing your insurance company, etc; people just don't want to do it.
